5 Senses in Turkish

In this live performance, special Turkish dishes will be cooked and eaten with the audience. The film shows three families from Istanbul as they prepare the same dishes and are being interviewed by the artist. They share their knowledge about the food, interconnected with events from their lives.
The artist Nezaket Ekici and her interactive Gesamtkunstwerk offer the opportunity for the audience to find out existential details about the people in Istanbul, their personal stories and their origins.
Cookery scenes in synthesis with images from Istanbul allow a different look at people and places. This culinary evening is a welcome opportunity to try out one´s five senses in Turkish oneself. All guests are invited to take an active part in this live performance.
