3. LANGE NACHT DER OPERN UND THEATER SHORT-CUTS & MONOLOGE BALLHAUS
16 April 2011 from 7:00 pm, every 20 minutes
Every year in April, a range of Berlin stages prove their diversity and uniqueness in this one night with excerpts from about 200 different productions. For the 3rd Long Night of Opera and Theatre, the Ballhaus Naunynstraße will be showing a compilation of excerpts from five shows:
Lö Bal Almanya, Jenseits – Bist du schwul oder bist du Türke?, Schnee, Ferienlager – Die 3. Generation und Schwarze Jungfrauen.

Lö Bal Almanya
by Nurkan Erpulat and Tunçay Kulaoğlu
Director: Nurkan Erpulat
Lö Bal Almanya skips through five memorable decades with reams of documentary material showing us why the official story of migrant labour is a ridiculous understatement.
Jenseits – Bist du schwul oder bist du Türke?
by Nurkan Erpulat and Tunçay Kulaoğlu
Director: Nurkan Erpulat
A compelling piece about Turkish and German social behaviour, darkly ironic to sarky, drastic and replete with a desire for ordinary, everyday life.
Volkmar Draeger, Neues Deutschland
Schnee
A free adaptation of the eponymous novel by Orhan Pamuk
by Hakan Savaş Mican and Oliver Kontny
Director: Hakan Savaş Mican
Satirical and provocative, Mican portrays a European reality in which social fears and their consequences lead to ever greater tensions and inevitable escalations.
Unique
Ferienlager – Die 3. Generation
Director: Lukas Langhoff
Langhoff’s production gets young German Turks born and raised in Berlin talking and thinking about their lives in Kreuzberg and the conflicts and contradictions that shape them. A highly entertaining production that hits just the right note!
Elisabeth Wellershaus, Zitty
Schwarze Jungfrauen
by Feridun Zaimoğlu and Günter Senkel
Director: Neco Çelik
The play lets the women speak for themselves: straight-talking, articulate, well-read, witty, self-confident and – well, dangerous. These virgins should certainly be handled with care!
